A couple of days ago I sat down and started to write a blog about how I wasn't feeling Christmasy this year.
Scratch that.
I don't think I've ever been more excited for Christmas. Don't tell anyone, but I already know what my biggest gift is- my sweetie is home to share it with me. Yes, the Army National Guard provides job security, but it's often hell on yuletide frivolity. Is there any wonder why we have mistletoe hanging in our living room this year? Or why I use it every chance I get?
I know the future is uncertain with war and a tanking economy sure to dominate the news for months, if not years, to come. I know there will be more Christmases like last year when the person I hold dearest is too far away to hold. I just hope to be able to keep the memories of this Christmas close. And plan to make more memories next year.
And to the love who entered my life two years ago on the 22nd- Happy "first" anniversary sweetheart. I love you and you will always be my Christmas.

Cheers to that. No gift could compare to having Travis safe and sound and home with you on Christmas. I hope you both have an amazing one.
